Create a business in 7 days challenge – Day 1
Recap, three rules for this challenge to work:
- You will trust me for 7 days
- You will read my daily tasks on this blog and complete them
- You will work hard to complete each task, no excuses (some of you will have bits of each task done already so naturally your workload is less)
What completing this challenge will achieve:
A business product ready to be sold, with a system in place to sell it.
- A finished product worthy of being sold
- Website to sell it
- Integrated payment and delivery system.
Who this system is not for:
- Anyone who does not already have an idea for an information product (If you have multiple idea’s then that is fine, but if you have completely no idea for a product, you are not ready for this)
- People who make too many excuses and are not prepared to give my method a chance with a measly 7 life changing days.
Ok, so if your reading this far, congratulate yourself on the seven life changing days that are ahead of you.
The rough schedule:
Day 1: Product idea focus and planning
Day 2: Hard core writing
Day 3: Formatting and finalising along with proof reader reactions
Day 4: Sales website setup
Day 5: Sales website setup part 2
Day 6: Payment system integration
Day 7: Testing, tweaking and finishing
I will naturally be adding some mixed tasks but that is a rough guide.
Day 1
Today is a thinking and focusing day. But like always there are three tasks and three focuses for your Ebook or product.
1) What do you know about that others will be willing to pay for?
- The very first basic step is to list all the things you know about which others would be willing to pay for.
- List everything you can do or talk about better then those around you (20 minutes)
- From that list cut out the ones that are not at all profitable. If you think you can make even a few pennies keep it (15 minutes)
- Now number all the remaining profitable ideas from 1 onwards. 1 should be the one you are most enthusiastic about and so on (20 min)
- From the top three, pick the one which has the most profitable and fun value to you. (5 min)
2) Write down everything you know about the topic:
- On your chosen topic write down everything you know in quick bullet points (no sentences allowed, quick 2 or 3 word bullet point)
- Look through those bullet points and try to group them together into sections. Things that go together go in the same section. If things are different, they have their own section, even if it is just one bullet point.
- Rewrite it, so it looks more organised and easy to follow (this is you step 1 chapter guide)
3) Research
- Search the Internet for information on your topic. Are there competitors? What will you do to make your book different?
- Look at Yahoo answers and see what question people want answered about your topic
- Look at relevant forums and perhaps even ask people what they want answered.
- Write down any extra ideas into your plan
4) Expansion of plan (we will work more on this tomorrow, but it does not hurt to start on it now)
- So now we have within perhaps 2 hours a basic guide to our ebook in bullet points
- For each section/group of bullet points think of 3 (just three) key themes you want to get across to the reader.
- Start thinking of stories and interesting examples you can add to each section.
That is Day 1 done. Not too difficult but the research may take time. Stay focused on why you are doing the research and do not get distracted. Spend maximum 20 minutes on Yahoo answers, 20 minutes on forums and 20 reading competitor sites and products. You are not copying their information, just wanting to get a general idea of their theme. Try not to read their products until day 3 of this task.
Let me know how it goes.

I think I kind of follow it. I wrote down my list of ideas and picked my favourite. I then brainstormed and organised my thoughts, using a little research to help me. I didn’t really start on number 4 because I am not sure if I am doing it right. Do you have an example?
Hi Alice, congrats on making it through day 1 of the challenge!
I will be posting some video tutorials tomorrow which I hope will clear up the problem. I also explain it in Day 2, so take a look and see if it becomes clearer.
