My blog

Commenting on Blog posts does bring traffic back to your site – Here is the proof

It wasn’t until I decided to look at where some of the traffic leaving my site actually ends up that I realised something interesting. Read the rest of this entry »

Ok, I give up… I just can’t do it.

For those of you who have been following the short 4 week life of this blog, you will know that I have been on a challenge which was set to me by my students. I had to start from nothing and end in one year with 7 figures in profit. Along the way I have to earn enough money for my rent and necessities (yep I had to start from nothing and start by earning enough money to pay my rent and food for March).

But today 2nd March I give up….  Read the rest of this entry »

2nd Weekend Status Update, Zero to 400 visitors a day.

So I have officially been on this Venture to the Top for two weeks. This week saw some fast acceleration, but I didn’t really understand why, so I had to take a step back for a few days and put things in place to ensure I capitalised on the traffic.

In my first week, the only visitors I had were people I had convinced to pay the blog a visit (new contacts made this year as I cannot use last years contacts). So, I was 100% surprised when I noticed comments left by people I had not invited.

Branding Myself – ‘Dee Kumar – The Productivity King’

Branding yourself is very important online to stand out from the thousands of other people who are also trying to make it online. It is important to know what it is you actually offer and what makes you different. It gives you a selling focus, makes you easier to remember and can make you sound cool. It’s equally important in the offline world as I discovered today.

  1. Yes, the primary way I will make money this year is on the Internet
  2. Part of the challenge is that I start with a disadvantage, I have no money to survive March.
  3. A successful launch can take at least 30 days to plan, not to mention expenses of design, domain name etc Read the rest of this entry »

Status Update #1 – A twist added to the challenge

The Challenge gets a little bit tougher…

Ok, so by now you should know that my challenge is to start from zero, and by using my experience and knowledge create a viable online presence within one year…

oh yeah, just a small case of raising a 7 figure profit as well :)

But that challenge was not hard enough it seems, so my mentorees (my students) asked me to add one more restraint to make my challenge more realistic. I have to do it with no money!

The Challenge – The purpose of Venture To The Top blog

Venture to the top is a blog I have created to cronicle my adventure in Internet Marketing.

I have been involved with online Marketing for over 10 years, starting way back with the great late Corey Rudl amongst many others.

I’ve also had a successful offline career in video games retail and tournaments, something I am taking very seriously this year.

It was when a few of my mentorees challenged me to become a well known figure on the internet within one year, that this blog came to be born.
