1st Weekend Status update
Ok, So it’s the first weekend in my challenge (I started Feb 1st), so now is a good time to recap on the first weeks highs and lows and set some targets for next week.
Highs:
- I got the blog up and running super fast
- I moved appartments to a much cheaper one quickly
- Learnt how great it was to live with guys again (like the good old university days)
- Having great messages of support via email, from people who truely believe I will do this.
Lows:
- Not going out with my friends as I usually would
- Losing my privacy in a shared flat
- Having to cut back on my favourite food in exchange for cheaper versions
All in all it’s been a much more pleasant week then I expected. There are a number of unexpected consequences which have really made me happy that I took on this challenge:
Unexpected Benefits
- Realised just how varied and interesting my skill set is
- Finding out that even my post on prioritising is of benefit to my readers
- Knowing I still have the drive and creativity that defined me all those years earlier
- Seeing things I never saw before (more on this in a later post)
So Weekend 1 is here, but that does not mean any rest for me, as there is still a lot to do.
Targets for next weekend:
- SEO this blog (1st step was to get it up and running, now I am actuvely using it, time for some Search Engine Optimaisation so people can find me)
- Create an ebook that is worthy of sale (I will sell it cheap, but will show by the third week, that I can make money off the internet within a month)
- Still work on offline work as a backup (there are no guarantees in business, so a backup plan is essential) – so that means generating at least 2 meetings with potential clients of my consulting business
- Start pre-launch preperations for my traffic echange Fontoon.comĀ , it’s a relaunch but I must focus on having at least 10 JV partners with lists of over 1,000 and another 10 people with who I am ready to do ad-swaps.
- Add an opt-in email box to this blog
If I can accomplish that by next weekend then I think I will have done well. There will be some distractions along the way, but I think that list is a great starting point…
